Can I configure PHP settings to suit my requirements?
Posted by on 19 January 2016 04:21 PM

That depends on what you are attempting to configure. While you can use a php.ini file to configure PHP in shared hosting environment, there are certain restrictions on what you can change. Some general PHP functions that have been disabled for security reasons are: show_source, system, passthru, phpinfo, popen, proc_open, allow_url_fopen, etc.

All web hosting companies disable such PHP functions and settings to maintain the stability of a shared server. We have fixed settings and values after carefully examining the resources most PHP scripts need. For PHP scripts and functions that need more freedom and resources, you may need an upgrade to our Shared Dedicated and Managed Dedicated solutions.

Having said that, our cPanel accounts do provide you with some control over certain PHP variables. You can go to:

Software/Services >> Select PHP Version >> Switch to PHP Settings
