Do you allow Telnet access?
Posted by on 19 January 2016 04:03 PM

Telnet is disabled on all shared hosting servers by default due to security reasons. If you Google for Telnet most of the top articles will highlight its security flaws. The main security concern with Telnet is that it broadcasts your information over a network in plain text! This includes all information like usernames, passwords, location, etc.

We support and recommend SSH on dedicated servers. It was conceived as an alternative to Telnet. SSH is secure as it makes use of public key cryptography to authenticate a remote computer. SSH is the standard alternative for Telnet in the web hosting industry.

We support SSH access. Contact us if you would like SSH access to your account.
